Cafés are considered to be the top places for socializing both for domestic people and tourists who arrive in Split.
Just as expected, the top cafés in Split are located in the old town, inside the Diocletian's Palace, on Riva, and on beaches.
Here is a list of my favourite 5 cafés in Split.
Table of Contents
Day & Night Bar Tennis
Tennis Bar is located above the beach Firule, and according to my experience, it is the best place in Split to have a coffee or a beer.
The bar features a nice atmosphere created by lights and a sea view.
The waiters are polite, and the coffee is delicious.
The bar is not too far away from the city centre, and it can be reached on foot in less than 15 minutes.
If you are going there by car, there is paid parking just near the bar. The alternative is to leave the car near the former nightclub Zenta, and then take a short walk towards the bar.
Teraca Vidilica
Teraca Vidilica is a bar located in the locality of the same name, on the way towards the peak of Marjan hill.
It can be reached by climbing the so-called Marjan Stairs from Riva, near the church and monastery of St. Francis.
During the summer season, the bar works as a restaurant as well.
The main feature of this site is a beautiful panoramic view of Split old town, ferry port, and Riva. The place is a must-visit for most visitors who have enough time to explore the town.
The drawback may be the lack of space during the summer season - that's why you may want to plan your visit early in the morning.
Café & Restaurant Lvxor
Café & Restaurant Lvxor
is located on Split Peristyle square, which is considered to be the most prominent tourist spot in the town.
It's both an indoor and outdoor bar, which works as a restaurant as well.
The bar hosts live events during the summer season, including concerts and performances associated with Split Summer Festival.
Antique Bar
This list would not be complete without mentioning the most popular place in the town - Split Riva.
You will hardly make a mistake if you sit in any of the bars located on Riva.
My favourite one is Antique Bar, located on the west side of Riva, near Maromont's Street.
Vivas Bar
Pjaca Square is another beautiful place located inside the Diocletian's Palace, not far away from Split Peristyle. Its charming atmosphere is created by surrounding palaces which are all masterpieces of architecture, mostly from the Renaissance and Baroque periods.
There are a few coffee bars located in Pjaca Square. I would point out Vivas Bar, a nice spot for socializing or a romantic date.
