Split old town in May 2022
As you can see from the photos, Split old town with its Diocletian's Palace is filled with people. Everyone is enjoying sunny spring days which are a kind of refreshment for the soul and body.
Many prefer this kind of an experience over the hot sunny summer days when the town gets crowded.
Most of the people have a good time just walking on Riva, while the others sit in a coffee bar or enjoy sightseeing the Palace and its magnificent squares, churches, and walls. Split Peristyle is the most featured square with authentic monuments from ancient Roman times.
A nice thing to notice is that people are not concerned with the pandemic anymore. Almost no one is wearing a mask and there is no rule of social distance. Croatia has recently dropped all the restrictions related to the pandemic, and all the border requirements as well, meaning everything is same as before the first cases of coronavirus occurred.
Tourist groups are active again. Those who want to take a guided walk around the old town and Diocletian Palace can choose among the many offered options.
Bacvice beach in May 2022
May is the first month of a year warm enough for swimming in Croatia. As you can see from the photos, there are quite many swimmers on the most famous beach in Split, Bacvice. Except for being a nice sandy beach, Bacvice is known as a birthplace of a game called Picigin, where players throw a ball without allowing it to fall in the water.
If you come to the beach, try to play this interesting game with your friends.
