Igrane is a small coastal village of Makarska Riviera located south of Makarska. It's known as a great place for summer vacation since it features nice beaches and cultural inheritance.

Igrane location
Igrane is located in the south part of Makarska Riviera, between Zivogosce and Podgora.
The easiest way to reach the village is by car, from coastal road D8.
If you are coming from highway A1, you should exit in Zagvozd, and drive towards coastal D8 road.
There is paid parking in the centre of the place, with the price of 1 euro/hour.
Igrane beaches
The beach located in the north part of the village, called Jarsan, is one of the best-preserved in Croatia. Its totally unspoiled nature and woods make it one of the most beautiful beaches in this area.
The whole coastal part of the village is like one big pebble beach. Just above the beach, there are coffee bars, restaurants, and all the other necessary tourist facilities like renting pedalo and jet-ski. Tourist agencies organise day trips to nearby islands Hvar and Korcula.
The perfect period to spend your holidays in Igrane is the interval between the months June and September.
During the interval of the months between October and May, most of the facilities in the village are closed, and if you want to visit Croatia in that period, you should go to bigger destinations like Makarska.
Igrane cultural attractions
There are two monumental objects worth visiting located at the north entrance to the place: the church of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary from the end of the 18th century, and the defence tower from the 17th century. The tower was built for the purpose of defence against the Ottoman attacks.
Olive processing machine in Igrane
Igrane features an olive processing factory, which is almost a century old. While walking around the coast, you will notice the old olive processing machine, which is not used anymore, but it's an interesting tourist attraction.
Day trips from Igrane
Igrane is a perfect place for a family vacation. But if you stay there for a week or longer, it's a good idea to make a day trip to nearby bigger destinations. The first one is Makarska. Besides having an interesting old town and beaches, Makarska is also a nightlife spot.
You can reach Split in less than two hours ride from Igrane, and visit its monumental Diocletian's Palace.
The most glamourous Croatian destination, Dubrovnik, can be also reached in 2 hours (it may take more during the summer season). This will be especially appealing after the Peljesac Bridge construction is finished.
For those who are looking for adrenaline activities, Omis is the perfect tourist spot, featuring zipline, kayaking, and rafting on the Cetina river.
Biokovo Skywalk is a new glamourous "sky bridge" located in the middle of Biokovo road. This place was visited by hundreds of thousands of visitors in 2020 and 2021.
