Primosten church location

The church of St. George is located at the highest point of Primosten's old town. You will have to make a small climbing effort through the stairs in the old city to reach the locality. It may take up to 15 minutes.
You can't reach the church with a car, since the old town is a car-free zone. Instead, you could leave it in the parking area located at the entrance to Primosten. The parking price is around 2 euros per hour.

Mass is scheduled at 7 pm during weekdays (except Wednesday).
Sunday masses are scheduled at 8 am and 10.30 am.
This schedule is valid from May 2023. Check the updated info on the website of the church.

The church of St. George was mentioned for the first time in the 17th century.
It was upgraded several times in the period from the 18th to the 20th century. The biggest upgrade happened in 1760. That's why it is mostly a Baroque monument.

The two most important ceremonies celebrated in the church are the Feast of Our Lady of Loreto, celebrated on May 10, and the Feast of St. George, celebrated on April 23.
These celebrations include a rich spiritual and cultural program, with a procession around the town.

If you find yourself around the Primosten area on those dates, you should not skip attending the ceremonies, which reveal the rich Mediterranean culture and tradition of the people who live in this area.
