Brela has been one of the favourite destinations among foreign visitors in Croatia. Just like all other tourist spots, the pandemic significantly influenced tourism in Brela.
I decided to take a walk around the place on May 28, 2021, to check if the visitors are back.

Brela in May 2021
After taking a short walk around the place, I can tell that the first foreign visitors have already arrived.
Although there are only a few of them still, I expect an increased number of visitors to arrive in June, when the massive reopening of Europe (and Croatia) has been announced.
Those who like the more intimate fashion of vacation, like staying on the beach without being bothered by the crowds should think about visiting Brela immediately. The place is more beautiful than ever before, with its intimacy being felt in every corner.
Otherwise, if you decide to visit in July or August, there may be more visitors, especially if the positive pandemic trends continue.
Are coffee shops and restaurants open in Brela
Most of the coffee shops and restaurants are open in Brela already, while the other should reopen on June 1. Just as expected, tours in a group are not organised yet due to pandemic limitations but that may change in a month period when there will be more visitors.
What to do in Brela in 2021
Brela is an ideal place for a beach vacation, the same as it was before the pandemic. Featuring amazing restaurants and coffee bars, a nice promenade near the sea, and a great vacation atmosphere, Brela is an ideal place for multi-week holidays.
If you like exploring cultural attractions, you can do a day trip to Split, and Dubrovnik, two bigger pearls of Croatian tourism.
