Here is a list of things you need to know about currency and payments in Croatia:

  • Kuna (HRK or kn) is currently (2019) the only official currency in Croatia.
  • Some sellers have permission to receive money in foreign currency, mostly euros.
  • It is expected Croatia will introduce euro as offical way of payment in 2025
  • It is advisable to pay everything in HRK because prices may be higher if paying in euros
  • Most selling places accept credit cards as payments (Visa, Maestro, Diners, American)
  • There is no need to enter PIN for payments below 100 HRK
  • ATM machines are common in all plaes of visitor's interes

Zadar

Zadar is famous for its old city, Romanesque Cathedral, and sea organ. Good enough reasons for me to go there for a day visit. So I did on March 16, 2019. And I expect to come back soon because I had a great time there.
